We had an incredible stay at this luxurious 4-star hotel. The location at the end of the famous onsen street near the top of a small hill was perfect, providing a peaceful and scenic setting. The service provided by the staff was top-notch, with every detail attended to and every request flawlessly fulfilled. The room amenities, including heating, air conditioning, and a comfortable sitting area, added to our overall comfort. The free Wi-Fi in the rooms was a great convenience as well. The highlight of our stay was definitely the open-air bath, where we were able to relax and rejuvenate in the soothing hot spring water. The hotel also offered a variety of leisure activities, including massage services and a TV room, ensuring that there was always something to enjoy during our stay.
We highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

I had such a wonderful experience at Shikitei! The ryokan was elegant and super clean, and the traditional Japanese vibe was a welcomed escape from the busy tourist scene. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, even going the extra mile to return lost JR tickets. The Kaiseki dinner was absolutely delicious, better than some nation-wide renowned hotels. And the onsen experience was exceptional. The hot spring water was rejuvenating, although I would have preferred it to be a little hotter. I highly recommend this ryokan for anyone wanting an authentic and memorable Japanese experience.

The location of this traditional Japanese Ryokan is a bit secluded but it's worth it. It's only a few minutes' walk from the bus stop and there's also a direct bus to Morioka station. the attention to detail is exceptional. the staff was accommodating and welcoming, making the guest's stay unforgettable. the food was fantastic and the private open air onsen was heavenly. the room was spotless and well-equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable and peaceful stay.
The steps to the private open air bath were a little slippery, so guests should be careful while using them.

During my Christmas stay, I loved the Japanese hospitality and attention to detail offered at this traditional ryokan. the ryokan's location was perfect since it was located at the end of a quiet and serene street. the ryokan served delicious Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. I also enjoyed the 24-hour hot spring for a perfect relaxation session after a long day out.
The temperature of the outdoor hot spring pool was lower than I expected, so it was not as enjoyable as the indoor one. the steps leading to the private open air bath in our room were slightly slippery, which could be a safety hazard for some guests.

I celebrated the New Year at a ryokan at the top of a small hill, surrounded by picturesque scenery and natural hot springs. The accommodation included a Kaiseki dinner and breakfast, which were both mouth-watering and served with unmatched expertise. The room was partitioned and the window offered breathtaking scenic views of the surrounding landscape. I particularly appreciated the traditional design of the establishment, which contrasted nicely with modern amenities such as the indoor and outdoor hot springs. The staff was friendly and welcoming and made our stay exceptionally enjoyable.
While the location was perfect for a quiet and intimate experience, it was a bit off the beaten path and could be difficult to reach without a car. The natural hot spring pool was lukewarm, which was slightly disappointing since the pools were a central feature of the establishment.
